Missy graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1981 with a degree in occupational therapy. After graduation, she worked at a large hospital in Baton Rouge, LA, where she specialized in burn and hand rehabilitation. Missy moved to Georgia in 1987 and became a Certified Hand Therapist and also earned her M.B.A. in 1993.

Missy currently sits on the board of the Georgia State Board of Occupational Therapy and Georgia Hand and Upper Extremity Special Interest Group. She has been very involved in the American Society of Hand Therapists. Missy joined Peachtree Orthopedics in 2007, and loves to work with patients with upper extremity injuries from the shoulder to the hand and also enjoys seeing hand trauma. She is currently the director of occupational therapy and works out of the Northside office.

She is married with two sons and enjoys traveling.
