Dr. Ryan Balmes is a physical therapist who helps empower his patients with the mental and physical confidence to pursue what moves them most. He specializes in helping active athletes of all sports recover from injury. His blended approach of rehabilitation and performance training helps patients eliminate pain and unlock new sports performance. Patients can expect to experience precision intervention with maximum impact.
Ryan is a dual board-certified clinical specialist with the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialities in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy and Sports Physical therapy. He is also a Fellow, with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. He holds a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Florida.
Ryan is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the American Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy, and the American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy. He recently served as President of the Georgia chapter of the APTA from 2017 to 2019.
Ryan’s clinical practice is professionally developed and personally proven. His past work with professional sports includes the WNBA, Women’s Sounders Soccer Team, the NFL Players’ Association, and as a private physical therapist to a champion professional motocross athlete. He enjoys running with his dog Kirby and weightlifting in the gym. Ryan is an athlete ready to play in any friendly competition at any time.
